Airtable Acquires Dopt to Enhance AI-Powered No-Code Solutions for Large Enterprises

Businesses are under immense pressure to innovate faster and take advantage of the power of AI more deeply. Ninety-seven percent of leaders say they’re facing increased urgency to implement AI, yet only 14 percent feel prepared to do so. No-code empowers businesses to build better, faster, AI-powered applications – and allows employees closest to the work to create and power critical processes that adapt to their unique needs.

Today, we’re announcing that Airtable has acquired Dopt, an AI-powered onboarding platform, to bring additional expertise in AI-driven, no-code user activation and product growth. This acquisition, following Airtable's recent acquisitions of Balsa and Airplane, underscores our commitment to empowering enterprises to accelerate their most critical business operations with AI.

Dopt's platform specializes in product onboarding with assistance powered by AI. Its technology includes AI capabilities that function similarly to an AI assistant for internal documentation, allowing users to generate content based on a company's resources. The Dopt leadership team brings a wealth of experience to Airtable, having worked together across several companies in data management, enterprise SaaS, and AI products. Their background aligns closely with Airtable's mission and vision – and will enhance Airtable's existing AI features, providing enterprises with a more comprehensive suite of tools to transform their workflows and build intelligent, AI-driven, no-code applications.

“Joining Airtable gives us an incredible opportunity to scale our vision of giving teams context aware tools that make it simple to build with AI,” shared Alon Bartur, former CEO and co-founder of Dopt. “We've been long-time fans of Airtable, it was the lifeblood of our customer development process from day one. Over the last few years Airtable has evolved into a full-blown no-code app builder, making data, workflows, interfaces, and integrations accessible to non-developers. We believe Airtable has a unique opportunity to reframe the 'black box' perception that AI has and make it truly accessible to businesses. By combining our expertise in building flexible AI-enabled tools with Airtable's powerful platform, we can help businesses solve their day-to-day problems more productively, creatively, and ambitiously."

As part of the acquisition, the Dopt team has joined Airtable's AI Pillar, bringing their expertise in AI, product growth, and user activation to accelerate Airtable's AI product development and no-code tools. Dopt's operations and products will officially wind down on August 15, 2024.
