Dr. Oviroh Peter Ozaveshe is a researcher and lectures at the Mechanical Engineering Science Department, University of Johannesburg, South Africa. He is also a University of Michigan African Presidential Scholars (UMAPS) at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. Dr. Oviroh had his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, and his Master’s degree in Energy Technology and Management from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Before his Ph.D., he worked in Huawei/Rutotech Technologies Nigeria as a project supervisor and technical engineer with experience in project implementation and management of telecom networks and infrastructures nationwide with a specialty in energy. His research areas are sustainable energy technologies (renewable energy), water desalination, water energy food nexus, and, more recently, system optimizations. His research interest is in using different renewable energy sources to meet the growing energy challenges of society, particularly the water-energy-food nexus. Peter is an American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) member and was one of the early career engineers selected for its prestigious internship program- ASME ECLIPSE (Early Career Leadership Intern Program to Serve Engineering), in 2019. He is also an associate member of the Design Society.
