Nicolaos Theodossiou was born in Famagusta Cyprus. He studied Civil Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in Greece, where he acquired his Ph.D.

Dr. Mohammad Abu Zahra is currently the Head of Middle East North Africa (MENA) region at the Global CCS Institute with 18 years of deep experience and international expertise in the Carbon Capture field. Mohammad is also an experienced university professor and an associate editor for the International Journal of Greenhouse Gas Control. Mohammad previously held positions with IEAGHG, TNO and Khalifa University. Previous responsibilities included the management of projects in carbon dioxide capture and energy integrated systems, consultancy, chemical engineering, research and development of energy systems and process design. In his current role, Mohammad represents the Institute in the MENA region and assists regional stakeholders in establishing their CCS strategic direction. As a recognized international expert, Mohammad is keen to educate on the importance of energy transition and how carbon capture and storage technology could contribute to global energy transition. Mohammad holds a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Jordan, a Master of Process Design and Development from the University of Twente and a PhD in Chemical Engineering-Process and Energy from Delft University of Technology.
