Explained I’m extremely simple terms with good examples of different tokens
designing a two-token model.
What if we separated economic utility and liquidity from governance and reputation. What if there were a pair of tokens. One transferable and one non-transferable...
Excellent introduction to system design, and opportunity to get formal training and certification. A good mix of academics and practitioners in the community
Token Engineering started in 2018 as a small community to work on the challenges in designing token-based economic systems. Since then, we've gathered researchers and engineers from many disciplines to formulate the token engineering design process, validation methods, a body of theory and practice. With TE Academy, we have created the first educational institution in this new crypto-native field. Since its launch in July 2020, more than 900 students from 21 time zones have attended our courses.
Articulates a principal vision for future token adoption vs simply the mechanics.

In depth explorations of various protocols, their tokenomics, higher level stuff like curve wars, and advanced finance like options & portfolio construction.
Writing style might not be for everyone
They did a good job breaking down aspects that others seem too lazy to do. I liked how they explained in more detail some of the forces at work for them to be successful, not just laying out distribution of tokens. Most token/DAOs lack purpose and direction, at least these guys wove purpose into their tokenomic outlay

Everything I learned about the foundations of economics was wrong. This book gives an in-depth historic overview of the history of markets, money, debt, coins (lots of alt coins in ancient history, fwiw), and the role of the state/feudalism and “freedom.”
Great starting point outlining the basics of tokenomics and overview of the key variables: supply, burning, monetary policy, token distribution and earnings
Giant rabbit hole of articles. More resources than you need on of Tokenomics. Intro alone will get you to top 1%.
Everything from game theory to how consensus protocols work, to how different economic systems.
We understand tokenomics more broadly as a concept by breaking down the goods/bads of its application in the biggest web3 game till date - Axie Infinity.
I really like this project and they're in it for the long term.

A majority of people overlook the basic principles of what a token can / cannot be with its structuring. In the end of the day, regulation is one of the biggest constraints on designing tokens.
Explains the reasoning behind Tokenization pretty well. Specifically, the significance of it.

Kain and Synthetix effectively launched yield farming for defi by adding inflationary tokenomics to SNX staking. He still advises projects on tokenomics and has authored Governance proposals tweaking Synthetix tokenomics.
Community built. Still have a long way to go but seeing a lot of potential in it becoming THE source of token economic design

Understanding valuation traditionally comes from adaptation and growth of a project. These values help us understand the ground reality and not just marketing / hype that can be manufactured.

I've struggled to understand tokenomics mainly on a protocol level and have started to draw these diagrams and write articles about them. Since then we've started a community to build knowledge around tokenomics.

Bridgeworld is the culmination of TreasureDAO's efforts thus far to bootstrap the $MAGIC ecosystem. In the white paper, you'll see an incredible state diagram explaining how emissions are re-directed through a marketplace, gamified activities and other actions into the "Atlas Mine", where players can stake $MAGIC over a time horizon with bought/earned NFTs to amplify their staking power. Many of these concepts borrow from OHM, DeFi Kingdoms, OpenSea, etc but the culmination is really unique in m

Great breakdowns and tons of concepts on how economics play into tokens
Start here:
https://www.newsletter.economicsdesign.com/p/why-token-economics-is-different-1a6
"Market-protocol fit begins with a broad distribution of tokens, followed by permissionless narrative formation and product innovation which activates them in useful ways."
I refer to the other internet research as probably the best example of guiding the community to build sustainable web3 ecosystems. I've seen DAOs such as FWB follow such structure and iterate as they went along.

Separation between financial and non-financial tokens — understanding the framework to develop a reputation system would put you heads and shoulders over most projects
I think understanding the economic patterns behind tokens is as valuable as the mechanism design of protocols. This is my classification of patterns.
