"Sensitive Guys" by MJ Kaufman Auditions

Theatre Unchained is again excited to bring this new show to Indianapolis! Our auditions will be held at the IFFringe Theatre located at 719 E St Clair St, Indianapolis, IN 46202 in the Blackbox Theatre (formerly the Indy11 Theatre). Joe Wagner will be the Director and Megan Ann Jacobs will be acting as Director Mentor. This form acts as both your headshot and resume! That's right, no more spending money on printing your headshots and resumes when you work for Theatre Unchained! Auditions will consist of actors cold reading sides from the script. NO PREPARED MATERIAL IS REQUIRED. It is not required to read the script, but if you would like to it can be found on our Work With Us page on our website theatreunchained.org. SYNOPSIS: "The Men’s Peer Education group at Watson College is dedicated to unpacking and exposing male privilege. These “sensitive guys” believe that through increased self-awareness they can end sexual violence on campus; but when a shocking rumor surfaces, the group is shaken to the core. Sensitive Guys features a cast of women and gender nonconforming actors, double-cast as male and female characters, who try to understand men who are trying to understand masculinity." PAY: All roles are contracted and have a guaranteed stipend of $100 and will receive a % profit share. Please see below for the character breakdown of available roles: ROLES: An important note: ALL the characters are played by people who identify as women, nonbinary, or gender non-conforming. Important Casting Notes: For all roles, we strongly encourage POC, disabled actors, and those in the LGBTQIA+ community to audition. Audition Date
Auditions are Thursday, January 9th starting at 7pm and Sunday, January 12th 10:30am. All auditions are held at the IndyFringe Theatre located at 719 E St Clair St, Indianapolis, IN 46202. Auditions will be in the Indy Eleven theatre, so please enter the building from the side entrance. If you cannot make those times work, please select the Private Audition Request and e-mail Megan at megan@theatreunchianed.org to make alternative arrangements.

Confirmation
The first reading is mandatory and will be on Monday, January 27th from 7pm to 10pm. This rehearsal is for the entire production team (including the cast) and will include dinner, contacts, ground rule creation, and a read-through of the script. Rehearsal Period: January 27th – February 27th: - Outside of tech week (which begins Saturday, February 22nd), rehearsals will generally be Monday – Thursday from 7pm to 10pm. Rehearsals will rotate between Fountain Square, the Northside, and IF Theatre. Performance Dates: February 28th - March 2, 7-9, & 13-15th 2025. March 16th is reserved for a mandatory strike followed directly by the cast party! You also understand that masks will be welcome, but will not be required in the audition or rehearsal room at this time.
