Every speck of pigment in these tubes has been painstakingly reclaimed from waters tainted by iron release from mines. Iron oxides make lightfast, natural, and safe oil paints. extracted from Sunday Creek in a process that cleans the waterway of acid mine drainage.
This overshot weaving comes from the Little Loomhouse's archives collection circa 1940-60, during the 2nd wave of the US Arts & Crafts Revivalist Movement. The Old Pennsylvania Dutch pattern comes from "A Handweaver's Pattern Book" by Marguerite Porter Davidson.
