Social Database: American Song Contest

Explore

NBC's American Song Contest brought together recording artists from all US States & Territories to compete in a 8-week competition. I was ready to fuel a case study around what Airtable can do with the right data so I built an Airtable base to pull in, monitor and track social media data for all of the contestants.

From there, I programatically measured contestants' growth across Twitter, Instagram, Youtube and Spotify while also pulling in episode ratings and sentiment via IMDb & Trakt's APIs. To get an apples-to-apples comparison, I built a weighted aggregate score that was used to predict who won the competition.
