Monarch City is a project created by volunteers at Frogtown Green, a Saint Paul, Minnesota-based group dedicated to greening the Frogtown neighborhood. Pollinator-friendly plantings are maintained by volunteers at Monarch City, on the west end and the north side of the West Minnehaha Recreation Center, 685 Minnehaha Avenue in Saint Paul, MN.

This database lists all species of plants in Monarch City. Plant range information was gleaned from the United States Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service's "Plants Database." Image's are attributed to individual volunteers at minnesotawildflowers.info and illinoiswildflowers.info.

As a non-profit, community-based organization, Frogtown Green provides this information as an educational tool for neighborhood residents and visitors. The plants showcased at Monarch City provide viewers a sense of pollinator-friendly plants native to Minnesota and hopefully inspire gardeners everywhere to learn about and plant wildflowers native to their states and communities.
