Stop the Bleed – Empowering Citizen Bystanders to Save Lives

Launched in October 2015, Stop the Bleed® is a national awareness campaign and call to action that came about in response to the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School and other subsequent mass casualty events. Its purpose is to train the public to save lives by teaching simple bleeding control techniques that citizen bystanders can employ while awaiting the arrival of professional emergency medical help.

Trauma centers nationwide are taking the lead by conducting Stop the Bleed courses for their staff and community members. The goal is to train as many people as possible and make this training as commonplace as CPR. Our trauma center has conducted 33 courses and trained over 900 people since the beginning of 2018. Our original goal was to train 1000 people by the end of the year. We will definitely exceed that. Airtable makes it possible for us to set our sights high because we've been able to streamline the course management and enhance the workflow. You can use this base to manage all aspects of your Stop the Bleed courses.
