About

I'm a big believer in todo lists to make sure tasks don't fall through the cracks. However I've always struggled with the number of tools I've had to use to manage these lists and dealing with all the inputs like calendar invites, conversation, email, and more.

ā€‹

With Airtable I've solved this problem by creating a single source of truth to view and manage these tasks. With different views we can switch contexts easily, get more done, and enjoy the freedom we earn from accomplishing our responsibilities.

ā€‹

Getting the Most out of This Template

Manual input of tasks is a drag and I use a combination of Zapier, https://zapier.com, and IFTTT, https://ifttt.com, to add tasks from a variety of inputs automatically as they come in. As they do I assign them and filter them into a view in my dashboard. With automation in place this dashboard becomes a personal assistant.

ā€‹

This may seem complicated but I assure you anyone can do this and I've written about how in this blog post: https://hackernoon.com/automate-your-life-with-airtable-and-zapier-3cc2857618d3

What's Included

This base shows how to leverage Airtable's various features to create a personal dashboard that works just for you. By creating zones of tasks and defining them by a status we can visualize the data any way we want by using different views. The Dashboard table illustrates this with:

ā€‹

* Dashboard for all tasks, then filtered by zone using the Kanban view

* Shopping lists with associated items to buy using the Gallery view

* Deadlines represented by the Calendar view

ā€‹

We leverage reference tables, some with many-to-many relationships, to show how they can be used to separate concerns and supercharge your base. The Shopping List, Zones, and Contacts tables are examples of this.

ā€‹

I hope this template works for you and feel free to reach out. āœŒšŸ»
