Fiber Artist Stash & Project Tracker

Explore

This database is meant to help fiber artists to keep track of their stash(yarn, fiber, tools, and books) and their projects in a wide variety of crafts currently available in this are knitting, spinning, and weaving but can be easily modified to incorporate other crafts.

The original database this stemmed from was created by Alyse Middleton (https://airtable.com/universe/expjUhYJfK24EKcJX/yarn-fiber-spinningknitting-project-tracker) and I have been using her version since August 2020 and have made numerous updates according to my needs. This new base is shared with permission from Alyse.

The original base included the following:

  • Breeds: pre-populated with over 120 breeds of wool and other types of fibers including micron and bradford counts for most.
  • Techniques: a partial list of available spinning techniques and outcomes like Worsted, Boucle, Chain-Ply
  • Fiber Inventory List: Cross populates from the Breeds list and allows for tracking many aspects of fiber you buy or prep
  • Project Tracker: Allows you to track most aspects of a project, including fiber breeds, colors, techniques used, YPP, WPI, TPI etc.
  • Yarn Inventory: Can be used along with the Breeds list to track your yarn inventory and what projects you intend to use it for.
  • Vendor List: For populating your Inventory lists. Vendor list can track your vendors and what types of materials you can get from them. Pre-populated with some of my favorites
  • Equipment - Track what equipment you have, how much it cost and where you got it and who made it.

New Content includes:

  • Separation of knitting, weaving, and spinning into their own project tables. This includes data specific to these crafts.
  • Books: a place to store and catalog all of your books and periodicals.
  • Gallery Views: Available in several places and includes a variety gives an idea of what is possible.
  • Numerous new fields in tables for increased organization.

All data entries are samples to allow you to see how things look and operate. When you are ready to add your content you can remove these. You can also see how the gallery folders work to be able to create your own that fit your own needs.
