Leave Request Form

Please complete this form to request temporary leave from Rutgers Symphony Orchestra or Rutgers Wind Ensemble for a professional opportunity. All students of the MGSA Music Department are expected to meet the curricular requirements of the Music Department as set and outlined in course syllabi. Exceptions for short-term leave may be granted only in rare cases of exceptional professional artistic opportunity. *Please see individual ensemble syllabi for information on absences due to illness or family emergency. Professional full-time auditions may be considered, along with a performance opportunity of high artistic level, determined to assist you in your future career goals. You may be required to make up missed coursework/ project in a subsequent semester. Leave requests must be submitted at the earliest possible opportunity. Submission of leave request does not guarantee approval. Approval of this leave request DOES NOT grant you leave from other classes, commitments and other course requirements. It is imperative that you communicate professionally with all professors. After submission, students will be notified of the committee's decision no later than 4 weeks from submission date.
