石垣金星さんからのメッセ—ジ。 　竹富町の島々の言葉は「シマムニ」といいます。「ムニ」は「ことば」の意味で、「方言」という単語は使いません。具体的には、イリムティムニ（祖納、干立、船浮、網取）、クンムニ（古見）、パタァ〜ンムニ（鳩間）、パナリムニ（新城（ここでは上地））沖縄県全体としていう場合にはこれまでの「沖縄方言」ではなく「シマクトゥバ・島言葉」という言い方をします。県議会でも「島言葉」として議決までして奨励することにしています。 　これまで「方言」として学校では「方言札」を子供達の首にぶら下げ「シマクトゥバ」を消し去るのに教育委員会は熱心に取り組んできたおかげで、今や各島々では消え去る寸前にあります。 ということから消された」シマクトゥバ」を取り戻すために下記のような取り組みをすることにしています。 ◆第1回竹富町「シマムニ」大会の開催・１１月中頃予定・会場：竹富島からスタートし島もちまわり毎年開催する。 主催；竹富町文化財保護審議委員会 後援・竹富町役場、竹富町教育委員会、竹富町民俗芸能保存会、竹富町連合公民館

Local languages are not dialects

西表ムニには、喉が震えない母音があり、強い呼気が伴います。これを表記するために、ひらかなを用いた場合があります。また、鼻にかかる鼻音がありますので、〜で示しました。新城ムニには、「う」の舌で「い」の唇という中舌（なかじた）の音があり、シィマなどのように示しています。カ行の音に強い呼気が伴う場合、ksの音に聞こえますが、これは、ひらかなで表記しています。今後のバージョンアップとして、発音の例を音声ファイルで付ける予定です。

Pronunciation of local languages. in Iriomote a voiceless vowel with strong aspiration is spelt as k'a. Nasal vowels are spelt with the addition of a ~ mark. Aragusuku Island's Panari language has barred i sound, spelt with an addition of a trema ¨ mark.

座標は、西表地図座標.png（または、そのスクリーンショット）の画地図上のどこに地名があるかは、google mymapで表示します。像を開いて確認できます。字（あざ）の境界を示す地図も添付の予定です。地形図・空中写真から緯度経度を読み取るために、リンクサイトのものを利用しました。

1400 place names are listed in the table, and 700 are located on the Google Mymap as of now.

The website guiding to this site

グーグルマップを使用して、airtableのデータが地図上に表示されるようにしています。地名の性質によって、川と海の浜は青色などアイコンを色分けしていますので、適当に選んで表示させると見やすくなつろ思います。

Using Google map, we show the locations of every place name, classified by an icon color corresponding to some similar characteristics: e.g. river, estuary, beach and the sea in blue.

AirTableを選んだわけは３つあります。 １）基本無料（２０００行まで） それを越える場合も、教育目的と認定されれば、無料でOK! ２）読み書き簡単（エクセルみたい） ３）色々な場所からメンバーが入力とメンテナンスできる。

We use Airtable, a cloud-based database service. The sheets and cells can be manipulated like those in Microsoft Excel. The sheets and cell can also be read on mobile devices. It is still in construction, and hence can be only read and heard, downloading is not possible as of now. Further, 1) It is basically free up to 2000 lines (with pedagogic reductions for larger data), 2) it can be written and read quite easily, and 3) it can be maintained by members from all over the world
