Application: Playwriting Intensive for People of Color

Victory Gardens is committed to developing and producing plays that speak to the various communities in Chicago. We make this possible by working and nurturing diverse voices in many ways. In our week-long "Playwriting for People of Color," ten playwrights will have the opportunity to workshop their plays-in-progress in a supportive environment facilitated by our Marcelle McVay Management Fellow and playwright/dramaturg Tanuja Jagernauth. Participating playwrights will discuss their craft and acquire tools for character development, generating scenes, and tackling rewrites. Participating playwrights will also gain invaluable insight about developing and producing new work in Chicago with special guests, Jonathan Green, Hutch Pimentel, and Kristiana Rae Colón. The workshop will run from August 5th - 9th, 2019, from 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm at Victory Gardens Theater. To apply, please fill out this form. Application deadline: Friday, July 12th. Cost: $250.
