Summer Day Camp Registration 2023

The Teen Center is ready to roll out another summer packed with fun and adventure. While each week has a theme, we will be exploring, adventuring outside, and engaging with the larger Vermont community every day. Camp is open to all graduates of 6th grade who have reached the age of 12 to 16 years of age. Teens must turn 12 on or before the first day of camp to be eligible to attend. Camp this summer is pay-what-you-can. This means no matter what you're able to pay, whether it's nothing, the standard camp fee, or you're able to cover the cost of another camper's time with us, your teen will attend camp. **Please note that registering your teen does not confirm their spot in camp. Please return the waiver forms, located on our website, to us via email or mail. Waivers can be emailed to elio@teencentervt.org. Once your teen has registered AND the waivers have been returned, you will receive an email stating whether your teen has a confirmed spot in camp or is on the waitlist.**

Primary Contact
Which Parent/Guardian should receive all emails regarding your teen's camp experience? This includes registration updates, itineraries, and the basics of your teen's time with us. If there are urgent issues or behavioral concerns, staff will contact both individuals listed.
This individual should be different from both Parents/Guardians. We'll get in touch with them if neither can be reached.
How many camps are you interested in?
The Teen Center has always kept our camps affordable to make sure they would be accessible to all teens, because we believe that all teens deserve a joyful Vermont summer experience. With that in mind, we want to allow as many youth to participate this summer as possible. Please select all camps that your teen would be interested in participating in this summer. Once you have selected the number of camps your teen is excited about, you will be able to rank each week by priority. We hope you do this part of registration with your youth by your side! **All specific activities in these descriptions are subject to change. They are what we're planning on right now, and any replacement activities will be similar based on the theme of the week** Monday, July 10- Friday, July 14 Photography Week: This week Josh Hummel will be introducing us to the world of photography! Campers are welcomed to bring their own personal cameras, but the activities are designed to be completed with a cell phone camera! Come snap some pics with us! Monday, July 17- Friday, July 21 Camping Week: We’ll be in the great outdoors, swimming, hiking, fishing, maybe some canoeing, plenty of campfire cooking, s’mores, ghost stories and games! Join us if you’d like to get away for a week (touch grass) and make fun memories with friends in the fresh air! Monday, July 31- Friday, August 4 Art Bombing Week: Between painting the Teen Center, getting our green thumbs dirty with gardening, and covering Middlebury with as much art as possible, this week is sure to be an explosion of color! Monday, August 7 - Friday, August 11 Theater Week: Stage combat never looked so fun! Or was it the improv? Maybe making props? That’s right, it’s all of that and more during theater week! Monday, August 14- Friday, August 18 Kaleidoscope Week: Back by popular demand, we’ll be doing anything and everything fun this week. But we’re most excited about hosting our own Greatest International Scavenger Hunt (Greatest In-town Scavenger Hunt), and in house Super Smash Bros Tournament!
Pay-What-You-Can Options
We fundamentally believe that tuition cost should not be a barrier for any child to have a wonderful and memorable summer in Vermont. To make sure everyone can join us at Addison Central Teens, our camp registration is now a pay-what-you-can tuition model. Please pay what works best for your family and, if you can, help us make camps available to all!
Medical, Support, and Safety
We strive to make the summer as fun, safe, and engaging as possible for every teen. We have a small staff, and while we have the resources and training to support most youth, we are not equipped to fully and adequately support all possible accommodations. Your youth's comfort and safety is the number one priority to us, so it is incredibly important that we are able to check in with you, if need be, to make sure that we are the camp that can best provide your youth with the phenomenal summer that they deserve! Please use the box below to outline anything you'd like to share with us, such as but not limited to phobias, anxieties, behavioral challenges, or any disabilities, so that we can better support your teen this summer. This is a great opportunity to get their input on their needs. ( You can write NA if there's nothing you need to tell us)

Registration Confirmation
Please check the box below to signify that you've read and understood the following: I understand that space in each week of camp is limited and my teen will be added to the waitlist of any camp that has become full. Waivers will be emailed by Teen Center staff after completing this registration form. I understand that ALL waivers must be completed and returned before my teen can be confirmed for camp. Teen Center staff will reach out to all registered parents/guardians with their teens' camp information and payment instructions as applicable.
Camper Confirmation
**PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE SECTION** By checking the box below, you agree to have have confirmed with your teen that they would like to actively participate in the week/weeks of camp you have indicated previously on this form. If we discover that your teen has been signed up without their consent, we will do our best to ensure they have an enjoyable time, but if they are unwilling to participate, you will be called to come pick them up and they will not be returning for the remainder of the week. Our experience has taught us that teens forced to come to camp do not have a good time and can negatively impact the other campers, so we simply wish to ensure that every teen who wants to actively participate, is able to do so in a comfortable and peer-supportive space.
