CCVS aims to improve the psychological wellbeing of war-affected persons, their families, and the communities they live in, by offering mental health care services to individuals and families who have been affected by collective violence. Our office in Kitgum is opening up opportunities for motivated individuals that would like to gain experience in one of the following areas: 1. Data collection & management You will be part of our Monitoring & Evaluation team dealing collecting and analysing data compiled from our field activities. You will be based at our office in Kitgum but will also be going to the communities of operation to support our clinical staff in the area of data collection and documentation. You are interested in monitoring & evaluation, especially in service-based organisations and have basic training in data collection and analysis. Basic knowledge about mental health care and counselling is a plus. You are precise with strong computer skills. You are a good team player, openminded and ethical and love working in a team. You are conversant with the local language and having the ability to ride a motorbike would be helpful. 2. Administration As part of our support team you will be assisting the running of the organization in the areas of finance, procurement and office logistics. You will be based at our office in Kitgum. You are interested in operations of an NGO and have basic training and knowledge about operational procedures. Basic knowledge about mental health care and counselling is a plus. You are precise with strong computer and planning skills. You are a good team player, patient, openminded and ethical and love working in a team. 3. Counselling You will be part of our clinical team planning and implementing psychological activities in communities is Kitgum and Oyam. You are interested in mental health care and counselling and have basic training and knowledge about MHPSS and needs of communities in Uganda. Experience working in post-war communities is a plus. You are conversant with the local language and have excellent interpersonal skills. You are a strong collaborator, openminded, ethical and love working in a team. Having the ability to ride a motorbike would be helpful. The period of volunteering will be from January 16th 2022 to March 31, 2023. These opportunities are unpaid volunteer positions based in Kitgum. Other than a basic volunteer stipend to cover costs, no salary or other expenses will be paid.
