12th Night Ball
In Game: Duchess Mairead Kelly of O’Malley Isle has formally announced that she has invited the most interesting members of society to a Twelfth Night Masquerade at her London residence to mark the official opening of the Season. The festivities are to begin at eight of the clock Jan 5th, 1812. Each guest has received their character card along with their invitation so that they might prepare their attire appropriately. The cake will be provided by the illustrious confectionery Chef Daveth Trelawny who will be on loan from the employment of Sir Ashton Andrews for the party. Out of Game: The above is the Game Mastered society wide event for this month. If you have activities or interactions you would like your character to experience at the festival with Player or Non-Player characters, tell us it here. You can attach images or mood boards of clothing, things you saw, etc. The fields below offer suggestions on things to spur your imaginings, but the details are up to you! The GMs will shape around to write the final news report, but remember that everyone remembers events differently! And what is in the paper is not always what actually happened. (so don't feel restrained). More on the NPCs hosting: Duchess Mairead Kelly is the proud matriarch of the Young Kelly line and as fierce and powerful as her ancestor Maeve. She rules over the O'Mally isle like silk lined steel. With the challenging politics around England and Ireland, Duchess Kelly has been determined to use the power and might of her family's shipping empire to prove that they and their countryfolk are more than just the pirates and rebels the landed gentry of England make them out to be. Aissatou Kelly is a painter and one of the young Kellys, Miss Kelly is a proud descendant of Malian, Dahomean, and Kingdom of Benin sailors and Maeve O’Malley’s pirate crew, who created a small but flourishing community in Ireland after Maeve retired from the pirate life. The young Kelly’s coat of arms has the notable change of griffons to leopards, honoring their twin heritage of West Africa and Gaelic. As a Kelly, Aissatou is a somewhat lapsed Catholic with a strong philosophy of Voodoo and a love for the sea. She was a strong swimmer as a child, and nicknamed “Merrow” by her granny Mairead Kelly. Debuting this season and unsure about matters of the heart or to whom she may give it.. Daveth Trelawny – Cornish-Dahomean lad of 20 who is an absolute virtuoso in the kitchen, and possible more if you catch his eye. He won the London Festival’s Pie category with a decadent cherry-sapodilla pie drizzled in chocolate (also known as naseberry, a sweet, kiwi looking fruit that tastes similar to the consistency of sweet potato pie filing). After his win, he was snapped up by employment by Sir Ashton Andrews, which means there isn’t much happening in the social scene that he doesn’t know about. He is the Salt Bae of baking.
