Foster Application

We can't get cats off the street without a place to put them! Opening your home to a new rescue (or two... or six...) is the best way for you to support our rescue work. Whether you're a cat pro or a total newbie, we take a lot of pride in setting our foster team up for success. We'll be there with you every step of the way!

We ask for this info so we can address you correctly!

I understand that pick up, drop off, and medical appointments for fosters occur in Flatbush/Prospect Lefferts Gardens and I'm able to bring fosters back and forth as needed.

Do you have experience with any of the following advanced skills?
None of these are even close to being requirements to foster, but please let us know if you have hands-on experience with these specialized skills. We knew none of these when we started! Check all that apply.

Presenting your foster's personality is a vital part of helping them find a home. One of the best ways to do that is by taking well-lit, crisp photos and videos of them during their time with you. Are you comfortable behind a camera?
You don't need professional camera equipment to foster; the camera of your phone is a great tool! If it's not your thing (yet!) we're happy to guide you.
Do you currently have any pets living with you?
Are your current pets spayed and neutered?
  • Yes
  • No
  • Unsure
Do you have your landlord's permission to have a cat?
Where would your foster cat(s) stay in your home?
For everyone's health and safety, foster cats must be separate from resident pets for at least 2 weeks. A bathroom, pop-up, or small room can work great for this!
  • {name}
Can you guarantee fosters will be indoors at all times?
Do you have a car?
Not a requirement but good to know!
Names, ages of all (human) household members
  • {name}
Is everyone in your household on board with fostering?
Please provide the email address of someone that knows you well and can briefly attest to your many excellent qualities. We're sure your mom is just lovely but no immediate family members or romantic partners please. Let them know to look out for an email from us!
Why are you interested in fostering?

Please tell us about yourself!
We think you're great already.
