La Botanica is our effort to share indigo and textiles, cut flowers, and fresh food to our community within the Richmond, Virginia area. La Botanica is a folk pharmacy providing our communities with the gifts from the Earth that are here to nourish our spirits and our bodies. We believe in using our bodies to create and occupy spaces not at risk of exhaustion, and always with the opportunity to cultivate knowledge and create sustainable interactions with the Earth. Angelique Taylor is a passionate regenerative farmer and co-owner of Smarter By Nature, who has always been interested in preserving and restoring natural landscapes. Angelique studied environmental science at Florida A&M University, started a student community garden with her peers and soon after began turning degraded and unused lots into edible food systems in her community. As she began growing, she realized she could facilitate the process of land restoration and preservation of the earth w
