Encountering your Ancestors is a two-day introductory retreat for people seeking to deepen their understanding of and relationship to their Ancestors.

Over four sessions, this craft history course will dig into the origins of Funk Art, a movement in Californian art--and particularly in ceramics--that emerged in the late 1960s. The course will also examine Funk’s growing influence as young artists like Woody de Othello and Ruby Neri adapt Funk’s founding principles to suit a new generation.
