music at 3:50 -- can hardly hear it; assume the mix will be improved later; also, can't really hear the music on my version of recipe and can't tell if there's enough
-I DID AN AUDIO PASS & INCREASED THE MUSIC BY 10db
8:05 I don't think you need a dissolve into this clip;
-DONE
at the final plating, I'm surprised we didn't do pickups of him taking the microgreens and green peppers after the filming (or before we started). Please make sure it's not there.
-THE ONLY PICKUPS WERE OF THE BEETS GOING INTO THE POT & HE WAS WEARING LATEX GLOVES, SO IT WAS UNUSABLE.
We had a substitute camera that day on CU camera and it did not go well!
-I NOTICED :)
Chad, if you can, if the timeline has been changed, can you note the new timecode on the changes you've made.
-YES. I WILL BE SURE THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS.
his is ready for you now, notes on this recipe:
- left in the story about why it's called "tartare," could be dropped for time (the show is running short, so will probably leave in)
- Hubert does not cut the filet mignon on camera (THAT WAS DELIBERATE SINCE ITS THE
SAME TECHNIQUE)
Overall, recipe looks good.
3:50 Start some music as he’s cutting (after he says “hand cut”)
-DONE
4:00 delete “so once I have that”
DONE
4:09 – can you delete that breath he takes? Kind of awkward
-DONE
4:11 – not sure what you cut out to get to this clip, but it feels jumpy (as in “where did this bowl of meat come from?”) I would like to see what you cut out. Did he ever make it more clear that he chopped the filet mignon ahead?
-ADDED THE CONTENT BACK (+25 SECONDS) CAN REMOVE AGAIN FOR TIME
-HE DOES NOT ADDRESS THE FILET MIGNON IN ANY WAY AFTER HIS EXPLANATION STARTING AT 00:02:15 AND WHEN THEY ARE COMPARED AT @ 00:04:44:00
4:23 – not sure why there’s a dissolve into this clip – it’s not a time lapse
-DONE
4:43 stay on CU of oyster cutting through the end (viewers will want to see the techniques)
-DONE
*EDIT WAS COVERING "ALRIGHT SO ONCE I HAVE THAT"
5:24 – he said “blender”, but it’s a food processor. Anyway we can get rid of the line?
-TOUGH TO GET RID OF THIS LINE BECAUSE OF UNDERLYING SOUND
-GRABBED "FOOD PROCESSOR" LINE FROM LATER AND STITCHED IT TOGETHER. I DEFER TO YOU.
6:18 delete “once I have that” (it’s a rule of thumb to delete that line wherever you can as he repeats it too much in all the recipes
)
-DONE
6:28 go back to wide shot for pepper (it’s an exception that we don’t have to be on CU of pepper since you often can’t see it on the CU anyway)
-LEFT AS IS; EDIT IS COVERING TIME.
6:39 did we see all the mixing of the ingredients? Unless it’s super long, I would like to see all of it. If it is long, then rule of thumb is to always see beginning and the end and shave off in the middle.
-SUPER LONG, LOTS OF TALKING, THERE IS A PAUSE ON SET AS WELL; CUT SO WE CAN SEE THE BEGINNING AND THE END
7:10 can we see more (not all) stuffing of the taco shells on CU. Did we get any CU of spoon inside bowl of meat? If the footage is there, try a montage… create an audio track and then advance video
-B-CAM WAS SLOPPY & ALL OVER THE PLACE HERE; FOCUS AND MOVEMENT ISSUES, EDIT ALSO COVERING ON AND OFF CAMERA VOCALS.
-ADDED TAIL END OF 3RD SHELL AND BROUGHT THE MUSIC IN SOONER TO COVER THE AUDIO GAPS
7:44 did we have any CU of him taking chili peppers from the bowl? Same with microgreens
-NO CU OF MICROGREENS OR PEPPERS--HE MOVES THEM OFF CAM, B-CAM DOESN'T ADJUST.
New version is up & ready for review.
