Cascara in Europe or Qishr in Yemen is a popular drink in the southern part of the Middle East, which is made with coffee shells and spices. It has just been approved by the EU as Novel Food, and we are very happy to introduce Qishr in Denmark.
This Qishr comes from Al-Haimi coffee farm in the beautiful Western Haraz region close to the village Lehab in Yemen. The coffee grows on mountain terraces between 1800-2100 meters above sea level and harvested and processed by hand.
Cultivation, drying and selling of Qishr provides jobs and income in Yemen.
