DSU Society Grants Application Form 2024-2025

Are you hosting a great society event or initiative? Tell us about it! Please make sure to create an engaging application, and demonstrate how you will improve student life and engage with social and environmental justice. BEFORE APPLYING... All DSU societies are eligible to apply for a Society Grant with the DSU. The following 4 criteria must be met for you to be eligible for us to review your application: 1. Your society must be ratified with the DSU for 2024-2025. 2. Your society must already have a bank account set up under your society name, and, you need to have access to this account. 3. Your society has an Executive member (traditionally a Treasurer or VP of Finance) who has successfully completed DSU Treasurer Training for 2024-2025. 4. Your society must have not received +$1000 from your collective Society Grant applications in 2024-2025. Besides all 4 things mentioned above, there are a variety of other factors that influence the approval of your application. I would suggest reading through the DSU Grant policy (sub-section 3) before starting your application: https://www.dsu.ca/governing-documents OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER... 1. All societies are eligible for receiving up to $1000 per academic year, and $500 per semester. This is flexible as long as your society does not apply for more than $1000 in a given academic year. 2. Priority will be given to initiatives relating to hosting and organizing EVENTS. However, we will take all types of applications. 3. If your society owes the DSU money, that amount of money would automatically be deducted from the grant approved to your society. If you have any questions about this application, please email dsuvpf@dal.ca and dsusocieties@dal.ca for additional support. If you are wondering about your society's finances or have further questions regarding your banking with the DSU, you can email jacqueline.doherty@dal.ca
