2024 TEACHER WORKSHOP REGISTRATION

We are excited to host this summer's teacher workshop in Washington, DC! WORKSHOP DATES: Friday, July 19 - Sunday, 21, 2024 NOTE: Kickoff Friday, 7/19 at 5pm OPTIONAL: Sightseeing Adventure in DC with SRL Staff, Monday, July 22 **Registration deadline extended! Submit your registration below by May 7, 2024 to secure your spot. (Note: to streamline our process, we do NOT have an application process this year. By submitting the form below you are registering to attend the event July 19-21 )** This three-day professional development focuses on: - Meeting the SRL team and exploring curriculum, new prompts, updated timelines, and expectations with peers and experienced instructors. - Hands-on Training: Camera, Editing, Podcasting, Interviewing, Mobile Devices. - Sharing best practices and ideas for classroom community building. - Learning strategies to gain buy-in from your principal, school administration, and local media. - Discovering how to help your students tell stories with a unique youth perspective about community issues. - Working with public media professionals to connect your classroom to the world through local PBS stations. - Leaving inspired and energized with ideas for the coming year! The workshop is free, but teachers are expected to cover travel and lodging. We will be able to provide a very small number of travel scholarships to those who qualify. Lodging
We will have a room block at the Hilton Garden Inn (Shirlington, VA), which is a 5 minute walk to WETA, where our workshops will be taking place. We will share the link with you to make your own reservation. Please let us know where you plan to stay:
