2024 APPLICATION | Toni Onley Artists' Project

This is the application form for the 2024 Toni Onley Artist's Project, held Friday, July 5th - Sunday, July 14th, 2024. Applications with requests for scholarships are due by 23:59 PT on May 24th, 2024. All Applications are due by June 1st, 2024. The Toni Onley Artist Projects, which focuses on the exploration and development of visual artists, will have a maximum of 12 spaces available. This year's mentors are Rita McKeough and Peter Flemming! The cost for the 9-day (8 night) program participation is $605.00 + GST. This includes studio space, mentorship, and a modest breakfast and lunch canteen. Artists are required to supply their evening meals and to source their own accommodations. We ask that artists planning to camp in their vehicles for the duration of their stay indicate this with us, so that we can situate you in district-approved places around Wells. Transportation to and from Wells is the responsibility of the Artist. Information shared here will be shared in IMA's assessment processes and, if selected, with your mentors. Your Artist CV!
The Artist CV: a record of your professional experiences and artistic achievements used to apply for juried exhibitions, grants, awards, gallery shows, commissions, and residency programs. As such, an artist CV is more detailed and much longer than a typical resume.
Space Requirements?
Do you think you might need to work outdoors for any parts of your practice? Specialized equipment that you would hope to bring with you? IMA has relatively simple amenities for visual arts practices, but if you let us know here, we can do our best to accommodate.

Supports
Are there supports that you need to facilitate your best work as an artist? Please let us know using the paragraph space below. Some Facts: - Wells, at the time of producing this form, has cell service in town. The studios have limited Wi-Fi access. - We have a volunteer fire department, local RCMP detachment and Emergency Medical Services in town. The closest hospital is 80km away. - The nature of our town's 1930's architecture may be difficult to navigate for folks with different mobility needs. For example, the studios in which the bulk of this program will take place are located on the second floor of the Wells Barkerville School. With notification, we can work to facilitate spaces with nearby partners who are equipped with better infrastructure to meet participant needs.
