Powercoders – Trainers Wanted

Many thanks for your interest in Powercoders! We are always looking for developers / IT professionals who would like to be part of our Powercoders community and support our participants by sharing their knowledge & experience with our participants. In 2025 there will be 2 bootcamps of 14 weeks each, in spring (March - June) and in autumn (September - December). As IT trainer you will volunteer to support the participants doing their exercises and working on their projects. You will not have to do any lectures and you can decide freely how much time you want to volunteer. You will be asked to schedule your volunteering time in a calendar so that it is easier for us to coordinate all the volunteers. Other volunteer role: Job coach We are also looking for Job coaches who will support one of our participants in his/her job integration during his/her internship.     Volunteering Code Of Conduct
    In keeping with its vision and values, Powercoders is committed to maintaining the highest degree of ethical conduct amongst all its staff, beneficiaries, and associated personnel. This Code of Conduct details Powercoders’ expectations of volunteers. Scope and purpose The Code is applicable at all times. Breaches of the Code of Conduct will lead to termination of engagement. In cases where there is a suspicion for criminal offense, information will be directed to the relevant law authorities. Mission and values Powercoders was established to provide recruitment, upskilling, and job integration into the IT industry, thereby ensuring equal opportunities for refugees and migrants in Switzerland and filling the need for diverse ICT talents. Code of Conduct Standards As a Powercoders volunteer, I will: Uphold the integrity and reputation of Powercoders by ensuring that my conduct is consistent with Powercoders’ values and standards I will treat all people fairly with respect and dignity. I will ensure that my conduct does not bring Powercoders into disrepute and does not impact my volunteering engagement or beneficiaries. I will comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws. Not engage in abusive or exploitative conduct I will not exchange money, employment, goods, or services for sex, including sexual favors or other forms of humiliating, degrading, or exploitative behavior which is prohibited. This includes any exchange of assistance that is due to beneficiaries of assistance. I will not engage in sexual relationships with beneficiaries of assistance, since they are based on inherently unequal power dynamics. I will not engage in sexual activity with children (persons under the age of 18). Mistaken belief in the age of a child is not a defense. I will not engage in any commercially exploitative activities with children or vulnerable adults including child labor or trafficking. I will not engage in any physical contact without explicit consent. I will not physically assault a child or adult. I will not emotionally or psychologically abuse a child or adult. I will ensure that any personal relationships among volunteers and beneficiaries are consensual and do not violate ethical standards. I will engage positively with the communities we serve, avoiding any actions that could be perceived as exploitative or harmful. Ensure the safety, health, and welfare of all Powercoders staff members, beneficiaries and associated personnel During the course of my voluntary engagement, I will behave to avoid any unnecessary risk to the safety, health, and welfare of myself and others. Uphold confidentiality I will not document, save or distribute personal information about any member of the Powercoders community without explicit and written consent. Complaints and reports Powercoders is obligated to internally examine any potential incident, abuse, or concern that they witness, are made aware of, or suspect which appears to breach the Standards contained in this Code. Volunteers with a complaint or concern relating to a breach of the Code should report it immediately to the staff member who is their first point of contact, or to Powercoders Job Coaching Lead & Volunteer Coordinator: Ya’ara Segal, yaara.segal@powercoders.org If the volunteer does not feel comfortable reporting to their contact staff member, or to the volunteer coordinator (for example if they feel that the report will not be taken seriously, or if that person is implicated in the concern) they may report to any other appropriate staff member or by filling out this form or sending an email to anonymous.reporting@powercoders.org, to both only one member of the Association Board has access. Staff members receiving reports or concerns are obliged to take action or refer the report immediately as per the Powercoders Complaints Policy and procedures.
