PH 1:1 Artist-Mentor Roster Submissions

Launched in the spring of 2020, the PH 1:1 Arts Mentorship Program (formerly known as CAPP) is a socially-engaged arts program that pairs professional artist-facilitators with young people on the margins (ages 16-29). Partnerships meet for one-to-one online mentorship in a discipline of the young person’s choice. We are currently searching for professional artists to mentor in our upcoming cohorts. PH prioritizes mentors who identify as belonging to an equity-seeking group, or who align with the lived experiences of the program participants. PH 1:1 Program Structure: > 1-on-1 virtual mentorships between professional artist facilitators and youth living in shelters or connected with community support organizations. > Each pair meets for one hour a week, for 12 weeks, over Zoom (this structure is flexible and may change depending on the mentee’s needs). > Artist-Mentors are tasked with keeping in contact with youth, filling out weekly session logs, and alerting PH and shelter/organization staff to any missed or rescheduled sessions. > Project: Humanity and the shelter/organization staff provide support for the partnership, help source any necessary materials or equipment, and address questions and concerns as they arise. > Artist-Mentors are paid $107 per week, plus $107 for onboarding/training prior to the start of your mentorship. PH 1:1 offers mentorships in the following art forms (AND MORE): > Acting > Photography > Visual Arts > Fashion / Textile Art > Crafting / Mold-making > Graphic Design > Dance > Storytelling & Performance > Music Production > Instruments > Singing & Songwriting > Creative Writing > Videography & Filmmaking If you are interested in participating as a mentor, please fill out the application form below to be added to our artist roster. We will then reach out if your skill set and experience aligns with any of our current youth registrations. If you have any questions or technical difficulties, please contact our Program Coordinator, Middle at middle@projecthumanity.ca
