The Halakha state (מדינת הלכה, Medinat Halakha) refers to the set of legislation that discriminates against secular people of Israel and favours religious ones. It is very much like a Jewish equivalent of Sharia law.
After many years of construction, the long-awaited metro-tram line was opened to the public in Tel Aviv in mid-August 2023. While Tel Aviv is a secular city, the tram will not be operational on Fridays and Saturdays as this is Shabbat on which religion prohibits working and using any electronics/transportation. There is ongoing anger aimed at religious people because of the public transportation not working during weekends, thus discriminating against the secular population.
There is a conflict going on in the comments. While secular people totally agree with the author, there are many religious people who shout at seculars and want them to leave the country if they don't like it. Those are real people, but as well might also be trolls sponsored by the government. Secular people are afraid of where the state is going and fear its collapse.
