Drawing and Concept Documentation *
We'd love to see drawings and more detailed descriptions of your concept - at this stage, hand drawn descriptions are fine, and you can also use your words to flesh-out the design so we have a picture painted in our minds of your design. Please highlight how your design will be accessible to all in our community
The drawing should clearly show the appearance of your design. You need to include basic height/diameter measurements and show an idea of how you expect it to be constructed.
We aren’t looking for the best drawing or most powerful words – we want to know that you know what this will look like.
Please upload PDFs, JPEGs, PNG, DOC, DOCX, XLS, or XLSX documents. You can upload multiple files.

Your Budget *
At the expression of interest stage we don’t expect a full budget. We would like to get a sense of what you think this project will cost, and from your budget we can tell how well thought out your plan is and identify if you need some help with budgeting or planning your full proposal.
For context the KB24 burnable artwork budget maximums were 13.5K including a 10% contingency fund. Kiwiburn expects you to set aside 10% of your budget as a contingency fund for unforeseen costs or plan changes that may arise during the build. Trust us – after a few years of experience we know that you’ll appreciate having some money tucked away for a rainy (or very windy) day.
Please provide a basic budget estimate worksheet.
We want to see your working, you can include links or photos of prices that you are basing your budget totals off. These can be rough quotes/estimates, but they do need to be reasonable.
For your Basic Budget, note down materials estimates, rental equipment you might need to use during your build (generator, power tools, cherry-picker etc.) For tools please indicate what you can provide, what you can afford to rent within your budget.
How would you like to send us your budget?
- File Upload
- Google Sheets Link
Build Crew - tell us about your crew recruitment approach *
Right now, we only need to know who you and your 2IC will be, and get an understanding of your approach to building your crew. If you can provide a more complete list of crew members that is great, you can give us the details on the next page! If not, that is fine too.
If you don’t have a full crew or any crew members who are builders, engineers, draftsperson, or with rigging experience (dogging) confirmed at the time of application, we will support you to find volunteers for your team as required.
While we want to encourage new artists and builders, we suggest a ratio of 50% skilled or returning builders on your crew. This way we can up-skill fresh faces to Art Builds, while keeping long-term talent connected to the community.
