Met Opera Dancer Auditions for 2024-2025 Season - AGMA/AEA Dancers
The Metropolitan Opera will be auditioning DANCERS exceptionally versed in a variety of styles, including but not limited to ballet, character, contemporary, jazz, Flamenco, etc. for the 2024-25 season. Auditions will be open to dancers who are members of AGMA (American Guild of Musical Artists, Inc.), AEA (Actor’s Equity Association), and non-union dancers. Dancers who attend any of these May and June auditions will be considered for revivals and invitations to new production auditions as listed under the 2024-25 New Production details. AGMA & AEA DANCERS Thursday, May 30th, 2024 10:30 AM – 4:30 PM* Friday, May 31st, 2024 11:30 AM – 5:30 PM* Check In begins 1-hour prior to selected time slot. Requires pre-registration. OPEN CALL – NON-UNION DANCERS Tuesday, June 4th, 2024 11:30 AM – 4:30 PM* Wednesday, June 5th, 2024 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM* Thursday, June 6th, 2024 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM* Check In begins 1-hour prior to selected time slot. Requires pre-registration. *All stop times are approximate SALARY INFORMATION Rehearsals will pay no less than $61.84/hour. Overtime rates are paid under some circumstances, as provided in The Met’s agreement with AGMA. Performances will pay no less than $221.81/performance performed, or $221.81/performance covered. Performance extras are paid when appropriate based on casting, choreography, and staging. These roles will be hired as W2 employees. ADDITIONAL AUDITION INFORMATION •These are in-person auditions only. •Dancers cast in any production and hired by the Met will be required to join AGMA. If you are an AGMA or AEA member, please bring your VALID membership card with you. •The audition will consist of ballet and contemporary styles. Please bring appropriate footwear. •For all AGMA and Non-Union Calles, please enter the Metropolitan Opera House (Lincoln Center) through the Concourse doors into Founders’ Hall. Auditions will be held in the dance studio, Studio C19.
