Story Pitch Form

The PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs is looking for great pitches for reported stories from student journalists! A pitch is a plan for how you would report a specific story in your community. Use this form to submit pitches for the 2024-25 SRL prompts (https://www.story-maker.org/library/2024-2025-school-year-prompts/) OR use this form if you have another idea for a story to pitch (something that's happening in your community that more people should know about). Pitches should be specific and show evidence of research and planning. They should include the five W's of journalism: who, what, when, where, and why? Review this example pitch before you submit your idea: https://tinyurl.com/4we53bj2 Formats: SRL seeks pitches for video projects. We currently do not accept pitches for print stories. Audio pitches should align with Season 5 of SRL's On Our Minds podcast, which focuses on who inspires you. If you are interested in producing an audio story for the podcast, please use this form: https://airtable.com/appkVFbP8KD2Jey3k/shr5CCzvjXUQMif3k *** DEADLINES: We accept video pitches on a rolling basis, August 1, 2024 through March 31, 2025.*** More details on how to work with SRL and the pitching process: https://studentreportinglabs.org/news/how-to-work-with-srl-new-for-the-2024-25-school-year/ If your pitch is selected, a team member will reach out within three weeks of submission to provide feedback on further story development and support.
