Rosie Banham is no stranger to brass banding. Born into a banding family, Rosie started playing horn with the Hall Royd Band, Shipley, conducted by her father. She later joined Home Charm Paints (Thornhill) Band before moving from West Yorkshire to the outskirts of Saddleworth (Whit Friday country) and joining Greenfield Band. Since 2000, Rosie has played with Delph Band, making two visits to the National Championship Finals, appearing onstage in local productions of Brassed Off! and even an episode of Coronation Street!
Following a career in Quality Management and Operational Excellence in the global software development team of a large international company, Rosie decided to focus on her passion for banding, joining BBE in 2019. She is a key point of contact for our members and those wishing to join the organisation, both in the office and out and about at our various events. Rosie is also part of BBE's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team.
Rosie is also involved in charity work and chairs a small charity with links to a subsistence farming village in El Salvador.
Elizabeth joined BBE in February 2023 having worked for several years for a heritage organisation. Prior to this, Elizabeth worked as a primary school teacher and often found herself taking on the role of Music Coordinator – she would be the first to admit this was more down to enthusiasm than skill!
As a child in Bradford, Elizabeth learned the trumpet through the free music provision offered at school and Saturday morning music centre. She also played for several years in Bradford Metropolitan Youth Band. In Sixth Form, Elizabeth swapped her trumpet for a euphonium she found at the back of the music cupboard.
Elizabeth is really looking forward to working together with bands to provide safe environments for everyone to make music and have fun!
