Please attach one document with responses to the following prompts. *
Please include your name on the document and separate your document into sections. Be sure to address all components of each prompt. When completed, please format your submission as a .pdf with the file name FirstName_LastName_PEFF_2023_Application (e.g. Jane_Doe_PEFF_ 2023_Application.pdf)
We expect that these first three points will take around two single-spaced pages to complete; however, you may use up to three single-spaced pages to complete them.
a. How have you tried to serve or realize the public mission of the University of Michigan? What are you interested in doing to serve the public mission of the University in the future?
b. What three adjectives would your colleagues or community partners use to describe you as a partner or collaborator? Why do you think they would choose those words?
c. Describe a project where you worked in partnership with others who have a different background from you, such as an interdisciplinary project, a research project, a funded collaborative proposal, or public engagement project. (What was the project? Who were your partners, and what roles did everyone play? What were the outcomes?) Looking back, what are you most proud of from this project? What would you do differently?
You may use up to one single-spaced page to complete this last point.
d. Articulate your vision for who you want to be as a professional scholar in 5-10 years. How does public engagement fit into that? How would this fellowship help you to get there, and what kinds of things do you imagine doing after this fellowship (e.g. deepen your research agenda, incorporate engagement into your teaching, pursue additional funding, etc)?
